The Voice: Shakira and Usher Mean Business

Season Four of “The Voice” with two new coaches Shakira and Usher (filling in for Cee Lo Green and Christina Aguilera) aren’t playing games. Blind auditions were underway recently and Rolling Stone had a chance to watch the action go down. Viewers can expect Usher and Shakira to be just as competitive, maybe even more than Cee Lo and Christina. Rolling Stone also commented that coaches Blake Shelton and Adam Levine are more competitive than ever.

During a junket with all four coaches and show creator Mark Burnett, Shelton confirmed that new meaning will be given to the term “battle rounds.”

Both Levine and Shelton had wonderful things to say about the new coaches on board. Levine even commented on Shakira’s performance, “You have a pregnant, hormonal Colombian. She’s ready to bust some heads. She ain’t messing around.”

Shakira has stated that she is delighted that she has been welcomed with such open arms. “Spending some time with these guys, I can only tell you that it is the best — they joke all the time and make me laugh onstage, offstage,” she said. “They have been such great hosts making us, Usher and me, feel at home at all times.”

We cannot wait to see what Usher and Shakira have in store for us viewers at home. Welcome to The Voice family!
