The Voice – S3 – Battle Rounds #2

Night #2 of Battles.

it was Cee Lo’s turn to open the night

Team Cee Lo

Cody Belew vs. Domo
Song: “Telephone” by Lady Gaga
Winner:
Cody Belew

Cee Lo picked a song right up Domo’s allie.  But as both Cody and Domo were busy choreographing the performance, Domo did nothing to impress vocally.  Cody, didn’t do a great job, but did good outside his realm.  He sounded sharp (pitchy) through half of the performance, and may need to work on his dance moves but showed his vocal potential.

Cee Lo picked Cody, and eliminated Domo.

Although the other coaches were impressed with Domo, no one decided to steal her.

Team Xtina

Aquile vs. Nathalie Hernandez
Song:
“You Give Me Something” by James Morrison
Winner: Aquile

It was time for the cute voices in Xtina’s team to battle it out.  Nathalie has a very gentle tone, she’s 15.  Aquile sounded more mature, Nathalie a little nervous, but she was good, Aquile was just better.

Xtina made the right decision in picking Aquile to advance, but Nathalie has a whole career ahead of her.

Team Xtina

Celica Westbrook vs. Lisa Scinta
Winner:
Celica Westbrook

Team Blake

Charlie Rey vs. Rudy Parris
Winner: Ruby

Team Adam

Caitlin Michele vs. Melanie Martinez
Song: “Lights” by Ellie Goulding
Winner: Melanie Martinez

Adam paired the two ‘indie’ artists together – indie was not my word, it was Blake’s – which made it for a difficult decision.  Neither Caitlin, nor Melanie sang badly, they sang with their own unique, non commercial voices.  Adam chose Melanie.

But Blake & Cee Lo jumped at the steal for Caitlin.  Blake turned around for Caitlin during blinds, so he had a second opportunity, but got shot down once again.  Caitlin chose Team Cee Lo.  It might’ve been pay back for Adam stealing Amanda yesterday.
