Showtime’s hit series Dexter is returning this Sunday, September 30, with a new season after an exciting, cliff-hanging season 6 conclusion.

Can all my Dexter fans please stand up, please stand up, please stand up? It’s that time of the year again fellow fans when we have to push off an hour of NFL games every Sunday to watch Dexter. We left off with uncertainty after Deb sees Dexter kill Travis Marshall. Initially, the first question coming into everyone’s mind is what’s Dex’s reaction? I’m excited to find out.
If you haven’t seen Showtime’s opening scene preview or the spoiler-free trailers, then perfect, you have no clue at all at how Deb reacts. If you have seen it, then you can agree with me that it strongly show how Deb reacts, but still leaves you wondering. Besides, if she does arrests Dexter or gun him down, then two more promised seasons would be hard to fulfill. Initially, I was worried that Deb’s feelings for Dexter would cloud her judgement. Not at all! She doesn’t let him off the hook nor does she forget about this scenario. The question that comes into my mind is how much does she find out about Dexter because of this scenario? Does she find out about the whole history? How much people he’s really killed? I’m telling you Sunday night can’t come any closer. I had been itching to find this out for months! To the point that I want to look up spoiler reviews, but I’m trying hard to stay controlled.
As a fan of any show for multiple seasons, you appreciate when writers and directors refer to past seasons. I, personally, look at it is as their way of saying thank you to those part of the loyal following. With that said, LaGuerta finds evidence and causes her to re-examine a case from several seasons ago, what a treat. In this season, Miami Metro seems to have more going on than compared to past seasons. Things stay consistent though like Quinn being a jerk and Masuka as the comedic perv. Masuka’s intern Louis Greene looks like he’ll be having a more important and increasing role. He begins to start dropping into Dexter’s daily life, which is awkward since Dexter has made clear that he doesn’t trust him.
A few new characters are being introduced this season with Ray Stevenson as Isaac appearing in the season as a Russian Mob Boss Syndicate and Chuck’s Yvonne Strahovski as Hannah McKay, a strong independent woman with a daunting past.
I’ve read that that last few minutes of the season premiere is very important – I can’t wait to find out why. Remember this is premiering on September 30 at 9PM!
