Game of Thrones Season 4: Winter is Almost Here…

Brace Yourselves: Game of Thrones Season 4 Is Coming

All Men Must Die PosterSeason Premiere 4

Citizens of the Realm! We are finally here! After a very traumatic and bloody ending to Season 3 (plus a hiatus that felt like a bloody lifetime) Game of Thrones season 4 is right around the corner. Finally! The new season – which will cover the second half of A Storm of Swords, book 3 in author George R.R. Martin’s A Song of Ice and Fire series – is rumored to be just as ground breaking as the rest of the series has been. Believe it or not, sources say Game of Thrones Season 4 is going to have even more battles and fighting than we’ve seen in previous installments. And, well, you don’t have to believe it. But this is Game of Thrones we’re talking about, and they’ve never done anything less than blow our minds. So we sure do!

Advance screenings of Game of Throne’s Season 4 premiere, “Two Swords”, have gotten positive reviews so far. Rumor is, Game of Thrones breaks from their traditional slower paced season premieres this go around. It’s said to not be as mind-blowing as some of the “OMG” episodes, but kicks season 4 off to a strong start with promises of some bloody treats later on.

Game of Thrones Season 4: It’s Gonna Get Intense

The consensus on Game of Thrones Season 4 is: things are only going to get more insane. Even Kit Harrington agreed this season might push fans to their emotional limits. In his interview for the April issue of GQ, the Game of Thrones heartthrob said: “[The violence] It doesn’t stop, either. It’s getting worse. There’s some scenes this season, and there’s parts of it that go even darker. What I wonder is how people can deal with something going dark and dark and darker. Being unrelenting in how pessimistic things are. They really push it.” Well. We really don’t want to believe things can get worse after the ‘Red Wedding’, but apparently Game of Thrones has some seriously messed up tricks up their wizard-sleeves.

Joffrey_Wedding

Game of Thrones showrunner Dan Weiss made this prediction about fan reactions to season 4: “If there’s going to be any breakout center of interest that’s going to blow people’s minds from a direction they never saw coming it will be Arya and The Hound”. Arya is long overdue for some good news so we hope this means positive things for her ….and, ok, and for The Hound too. I’m not holding my breath though. Good things seem to be few and far between for the characters on this show.

Another huge plot-point to look forward to this season is the impending Joffrey/Margeary wedding.  Love them or hate them (am I the only one that wants to punch Joffrey and doesn’t trust Margeary? No? I didn’t think so..), but the wedding is happening and boy does it look grand. HBO was gracious enough to keep us rabid fans satisfied with plenty of behind the scenes videos, including a Costumes Featurette featuring a sneak-peek of the wedding scene. Margeary’s dress is stunning and, of course, covered in roses. And don’t forget about the feast! The insane amount of time and detail that went into planning and cooking up their nuptial spread is evident. I’m sure the wedding with go off without a hitch….MWHAHAHAHAHA!!!
