NBC’s The Voice has given new found fame to Automatic Loveletter’s Juliet Simms. It looks like The Voice and Warped Tour like to share their contestants. Last year, we had Dia Frampton, of Meg & Dia fame. The rock sister duo toured with Warped Tour consecutively in the summers of 2006 and 2007, followed by their return in 2009. The sisters took a break in 2011 when Dia joined The Voice and became runner up to Javier Colon.
A year later, The Voice introduces the world to Juliet Simms, a rocker diva with just as much Warped experience as Dia. Simms has made it to the finals with a good chance of winning the title of The Voice.
Automatic Loveletter broke out into the scene when Juliet was featured in All Time Low’s hit, Remembering Sunday, back in 2006, and then her fan base grew on from there. After playing Warped Tour in 2008, and then again in 2010 and 2011, Juliet is no stranger to performing on stages in front of thousands of fans.
Now with her success on The Voice, Automatic Loveletter fans are worried of the future of the band. In a recent interview with our friends at Alternative Press, Juliet stated that the band wouldn’t be forgotten or abandoned.
Obviously, I won’t be doing anything with it for a little bit, because I’ll be so wrapped up in this. But it by no means is over. It had its fun and had its time for a little bit, and then this happened, and it just feels like this is what I’m going to be doing for a little while. When I get a break, I would absolutely love to write and do some more music with the band and possibly tour. Just like Cee Lo—Cee Lo’s got, what, five different projects that he does. I never want to just have one thing I’m doing.
We’re glad to hear that the future of Automatic Loveletter is still bright! Just look at what Dia did after her stint on The Voice, she released an album back under the Meg & Dia name. So even if we may lose our favorite Warped artists for a brief while on The Voice, they’re more than likely find their way back to their punk roots. We’re rooting for you no matter the outcome of The Voice, Juliet!
