WEEK Five: Bonus Blog !
Apparently I am too young by any standards to just fly out to NYC from Seattle and attend the CMJ 2012 festivities. SO I had to live out the fun vicariously (really big word…yeah I know) by hearing from Sarah, Danielle, Erik and John from ZING Revolution who did get to go.
I really wanted to check out one of my favorite indie bands – the Alverez Kings and a ton of other acts….but….apparently I am just too ……thirteen….argh. So here it is. My friends and I love indie rock, we live for it and one day we WILL play this conference showcase madness. But until then congrats to ZING for being a sponsor/partner – I heard the wall skins they put up were a real hit and especially to all the bands that played…..thanks for paving the way for us up and comers.
I discovered that ZING actually has the art for some of the indie bands that played CMJ including Pig Destroyer and Miss May I.
But mostest importantest (yeah this is Cameron speak!) of all is that KEXP was all about CMJ this year and as a SEATTLE guy well……KEXP is the best station in the universe and everyone should listen to it all day, all night their entire life – http://kexp.org/
