NEW ELECTRONIC ALERT!
Here at MusicSkins/Z!NGRevolution we’re all electronic junkies (except John whose phone is probably from 1999, sorry John!) So we know you we just as anxious for the iPhone 5 to be unveiled as you were. It was finally released yesterday at 1pm and we have all the facts you need to know before you preorder yours on Friday. We also have some info on the new iPod touch that was also revealed.
From the front you wouldn’t be able to tell the iPhone 5 from its predecessor, the iPhone 4 and 4S. Although the new phone is taller, that’s about the only difference. You only notice the real differences after picking the phone up. It is lighter, much lighter, so light in fact that it is said that it’s weight it one of the most memorable features about the new iPhone. The body is made of the same aluminum that the MacBooks with glass covering the screen that is larger, but not quite as large as the 4.5 inch Android screens.
The A6 processor was no rumor, and provides the iPhone 5 with faster computing and graphics performance than the 4 or 4S. So now you can watch movies, play games, and do whatever else you do on your phone with more speed than ever before. The panorama feature was another rumor that was confirmed as part of the iPhone 5. You can now take 360-degree images without a 3rd party app. So go ahead, spin around your room, or the beach. Let’s just hope you can Instagram those too! It will also run the new iOS6 software.
A feature for our generation seems to be the integration with Facebook. Now right from your iPhone you can update you status via voice updates using Siri, and songs and videos on iTunes will have Facebook “like” buttons.
We were also introduced to the first Google-free maps app called Flyover, which features 3D interactive maps that allow you to zoom in and out of anywhere you’d like. Kind of sounds like Google Earth, but we won’t say that too loudly.
We don’t want to neglect the new iPod touch or say that it’s the poor mans iPhone or anything, but it seems that it just got all of the old iPhone features handed down. It inherited the 5-megapixel camera along with the A5 processor. Apple also added Retina display, Siri and a front facing camera. So basically the new iPod is the old iPhone, without the phone part, BUT they also added the taller, super slim body of the new iPhone.
Apple also made a couple of other announcements of new products like their redesigned earbuds called EarPods, which are designed especially for the ear, trying to make a perfect fit for as many different ears as possible. They are also supposed to be more durable and enhance your listening experience.

You can preorder the new iPhone this Friday (September 14th), but it won’t be released in the United States on September 21st. I would get on that, because no one wants to stand in the lines that will undoubtedly be wrapped around AT&T and Verizon on the 21st. According to the official press release you can get the phone for $199, $299, or $399 for the 16, 32 and 64GB models with a contract.
